Spurred by a tragic fire in which much of the Island’s recorded history burned to the ground, the Swan’s Island Memory Project aims to revive recollections of the small Maine Island through recorded histories and historical photographs.

Starksboro, Vermont is working to balance a growing population with a rural lifestyle. The Art & Soul project used storytelling and a series of community arts projects to engage citizens and identify common values that can guide planning decisions.

A collaboration between Brown University and the Fox Point neighborhood of Providence RI, this project uses storytelling, photo exhibits, and mapping exercises to understand and celebrate the community character of the historic neighborhood.

The Why Here Why Now project collects and publishes multimedia interviews from community members in Yellow Springs, Ohio in an attempt to increase engagement and collaboration among the town’s increasingly polarized population.

Drawn by the striking landscapes and open space, people are flocking to Victor, whose population since 2000 has swelled by 73%. Residents are now using Heart & Soul Community Planning to build bridges and hold on to the town’s unique character.
