The Municipal Code Corporation offers a free online Municipal Code Library: print and online versions of state codes for every state, and a variety of code-creation, code-management, and consulting services for local governments.
Established in 1951, the Municipal Code Corporation (MCC) is a private firm that has been offering a variety of products and services to local governments to assist them in the creation and management of municipal code.
On their website, MCC makes free and available a huge database of municipal codes—called the Municode Library—which helps users search for ordinances and minutes for any state. Electronic versions of ordinances and development and land use code are organized by county, and print versions are for sale. MCC also sells up-to-date pamphlets and digital copies of the state laws for each state, to help local governments ensure their codes do not conflict with state laws. Another MCC product is Multiple Code Search, to which users can subscribe, allowing a complete search of all the existing code for any particular state. A US-wide code search will be available at the beginning of the third quarter in 2010.
Other services offered by MCC include creating code for municipalities, updating code, Document Management (electronic storage and management of documents), and Legislative Management (streamlining legislative workflow). MCC features articles online to highlight the various aspects of MCC services and products, as well as real-life examples of how cities are adopting MCC services.
