ResourcesZine’s online database is a wealth of tools and resources for educators and planners on how to involve youth in community planning. The resource includes topics such as community planning, environmental protection, urban design, civic engagement, geography and GIS, social studies, transportation, history, and other planning-related topics that offer kids introductions to planning as an institution.
Editor Ramona Mullahey also emphasizes the articles included in ResourceZine that are less directly related to planning, but nonetheless instill ways of thinking that are essential to positively shaping a community's future, such as environmental education, urban history, and developing a sense of place.
In addition to unique and fun ways to get kids excited about their community’s future, ResourceZine includes free lesson plans from APA, plus information and links to dozens of other lesson plans developed by allied organizations.
