YouthScape, run by the National League of Cities’s Institute for Youth, Education, and Families (YEF), provides youth leaders with a place on the web to connect, ask questions, and share events or projects going on in their communities.
A space for youth leaders to meet, talk, and ask questions, YouthScape provides youth groups, councils, and motivated individuals with the tools to connect and gain support from other young people. Through discussing common issues, sharing stories, and providing groups and leaders with a place to connect to similar or nearby groups, YouthScape allows young people to learn from their peers and build a strong network of youth voices across the U.S.
Various media within YouthScape allow youth leaders to communicate in different forms. A blog allows young leaders to discuss pertinent issues and share events or stories from their communities. Spotlights on YouthScape celebrate certain youth groups and iniatives who can provide inspiration to other young people, showing ways they can make a difference in their communities. A news-feed keeps youth groups and leaders up to date on the latest conferences, events, and activities happening all over America. Discussion topics on YouthScape’s “City Hall” forum allow youth leaders to respond to prompts and start dialogues within their communities about pressing issues facing today’s youth. A page with organizations, foundations, and various engagement tools provides even more resources for young people. This national forum brings together youth leaders from all over the country, giving them a place to talk, share, and come together to tackle issues facing young people.
