The PlaceMeant Project collected a number of digital stories focusing on the impact of place on individual residents throughout Mendocino County, California. The project showcased a selection of the stories in a theatrical stage production.
The PlaceMeant Project was the result of collaboration between the Center for Digital Storytelling and the Ukiah Players Theater in Ukiah, California and made possible by a grant from the James Irvine Foundation.
As a part of a communitywide discussion and process, the organizations joined together to hold a number of digital storytelling workshops and collect digital stories about Ukiah and its importance to residents. A selection of the collected stories was compiled into a stage production show at the Ukiah Players Theater, some of the segments being performed by the original authors. As a follow-on, the project expanded to collect stories throughout surrounding Mendocino County and put on a traveling stage production.
The stories focused mainly on the significance of, and personal experiences with, the unique character of each place. The stories were part of a larger conversation about the importance of maintaining character and natural landscape while accommodating new jobs, housing and industry.
Stories from the project can be viewed online and are displayed on a map that gives a geographic context to each one. This type of place-based narrative is referred to by the Center for Digital Storytelling as “storymapping”.

You might peek at Yahoo's front page and see how they create post
titles to get people interested. You might add a related video or a related pic or two to
