Resource Description

Energizing Entrepreneurs is the online companion for the book Energizing Entrepreneurs: Charting a Course for Rural Communities, published by the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship.

This online toolkit provides the following resources:

  • “Working in Rural America” and “Economic Development Today”: oversight and general understanding of rural development and economic development
  • “Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship”: information on entrepreneurial development
  • “Making the Case”: how to build community support for entrepreneurial development
  • “Readiness”: tools to assess whether a community is ready for entrepreneurship development
  • “Assessment”: tools to formulate a strategy for entrepreneurial development
  • “Strategy Building”: information on how to build an appropriate and tailored strategy based on a specific community’s assets and development goals
  • “Capacity”: ways to assess, build, and sustain capacity
  • “Evaluation”: ways to measure progress and report the results
  • “Policy”: guide for making connections to policymakers

In addition to the materials provided on the website, the Center offers the following Energizing Entrepreneurs trainings:

  • e2 Institute – 3-day training for community teams from a specified region to strategize and plan for entrepreneurship development
  • e2 Express – a 1.5 – day session for community teams to gain a better understanding of entrepreneurship development
  • e2 Webinars – online trainings on specific elements of Energizing Entrepreneurs
